Naval Station Norfolk Hosts Trump, Hegseth for Navy 250th Anniversary Event
Thousands of sailors gathered on a pier at Naval Station Norfolk on Sunday for an event celebrating the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary.
The event, initially titled “America's Navy 250 / Titans of the Sea: A Salute to the Fleet" and dubbed on-site as “Titans of the Sea / A Presidential Review of Naval Strength”, featured a live fire demonstration, flyover, and performance by the U.S. Fleet Forces Band.
Speakers at the event included President Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Navy Secretary John Phelan, and first lady Melania Trump. Speeches were held on a pier flanked by the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) and the USS Harry S. Truman.
The event was one of multiple held in celebration of 250th anniversaries of branches of the U.S. military, including a parade in June of this year honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States Army.
