Cincinnati Police Chief Placed on Administrative Leave, Attorney Speaks at Press Conference
A press conference was held Tuesday morning in Cincinnati, one day after Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge was placed on administrative leave.
Stephen Imm, an employment attorney at Finney Law Firm who is representing Theetge, spoke at the firm’s downtown location and took questions from members of the press. Theetge was present but did not give a statement herself or take questions. Theetge’s husband and two of her siblings were also present at the press conference.
Theetge was sworn in as Cincinnati’s police chief in January 2023, after serving for nearly a year as Interim Police Chief. She has been with the Cincinnati Police Department for over three decades, and is the first woman to lead the department.
Cincinnati City Manager Sheryl Long placed Chief Theetge on administrative leave on Monday pending an investigation into her leadership, and named Assistant Chief Adam Hennie as Interim Police Chief.
