Michigan Sees “Good Trouble Lives On” Demonstrations Against Trump Administration

Protesters gathered in multiple Michigan cities on Thursday, as part of nationwide demonstrations, dubbed “Good Trouble Lives On”, that were held honoring the legacy of the late congressman and civil rights activist John Lewis.

A demonstration was held in Roseville on a pedestrian bridge over I-696, with protesters holding signs with messages reading “No Human Being Is Illegal”, “No To Hate”, “Dump Trump” and “Hands Off Our Democracy”, among others.

Another protest was held Downriver in the evening, with dozens of demonstrators gathering along Fort Street in Southgate.

The nationwide protests, scheduled to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the passing of John Lewis, marked the latest in a series of coordinated protest dates against the Trump administration, and followed last month’s “No Kings” demonstrations, which organizers estimated millions attended across the country.
