Trump Speaks at America250 Kick-Off Celebration at Iowa State Fairgrounds
President Trump spoke Thursday evening at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, giving remarks at an America250 kick-off celebration event. The rally-style gathering was held as a precursor to events celebration the 250th anniversary of America’s declaration of independence.
The event featured several Republican speakers prior to Trump taking the stage, including both incumbent U.S. senators from Iowa (Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley), Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann, and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins.
Trump spoke about the recently-passed tax and spending bill, which he has referred to as the “One Big Beautiful Bill”, which had just made it through the House by a 218-214 vote earlier in the day. He criticized Democrat legislators who voted against the measure.
Speaking on the 250th anniversary celebrations, Trump teased an upcoming UFC fight to be held on the grounds of the White House.
Thursday’s event, held one day before the Fourth of July, featured a fireworks show shortly after Trump’s speech.
