Tall Ships Return to Detroit for “Sail Detroit” Festival

Tall ships are back on the Detroit River this weekend for the “Sail Detroit” festival, returning to the city for the first time since 2001

The festival is part of the Tall Ships Challenge organized by Tall Ships America, an annual event began in 2001 that brings traditionally rigged ships to ports in North America

The schooners are docking near the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority headquarters through Sunday, with ticketed tours available to the public

More information on the event can be found at their website, https://saildetroit.com/
